Fairly wacky – not quite Uruseiyatsura wacky – OVA (Original Video Animation) series. Broken family, mother wants custody of the son. Mother runs an industrial arms company – and isn’t afraid to use whatever means to get her son, and the father has an android with the brain of a cat (literally) who will do whatever to protect the son.
I believe that KTEH was the first (and maybe the only) US station to air the OVA series. I do not know if the TV series has made it to the US yet.
