Rumiko Takahashi’s original 1981 series, about boy-meets girl – boy accidentally proposes to girl – boy doesn’t want to marry girl – and, by the way, did I happen to mention that the girl is an alien who can fly and deliver massive electrical shocks at will? Wackiness ensues. Hugely popular long-running series (plus movies, and OAV series…) KTEH was the first to air this series in the US in March of 1998.
