After a couple of days off, I have resumed my 40th anniversary marathon of Doctor Who at 7:30 PM PST with Genesis of the Daleks (episodic version.) Quite possibly the best surviving Dalek story (Evil of could be the best all time, but this is judged by the reconstruction only) and, most likely, the best Terry Nation story for the series. The Time Lords send the Doctor to alter the course of Dalek history (don’t the Time Lords understand the havoc that can be caused by this action – I mean, isn’t that why they don’t interfere!) One of the few long stories that doesn’t seem padded, mostly because there is plenty of action on different fronts. Definitely deserves the first 5/5 for the fourth Doctor!
